According to Indian Army, General Pande was updated on the green initiatives and infusion of the best engineering practices in the ongoing project.

The green initiatives incorporated include the transplantation of 476 fully grown trees, the plantation of 5790 saplings, and the use of environmentally friendly energy and construction ideas. Post-construction, the Thal Sena Bhawan aims to be a net-zero building in line with the enduring Go Green initiatives of the Indian Army, they added.

Earlier in the day, the Army Chief inaugurated the 'Shivaji Block', a state-of-the-art building constructed for the troops at the Army HQ Camp at Delhi Cantonment.

"The building with a capacity of 400 beds has been constructed with the latest Light Gauge Steel Framing #LGSF technology & equipped with modern amenities for all-weather comfortable living conditions," Indian Army said in a post on 'X' (formerly Twitter). (ANI)
