Ambala (Haryana) [India], October 28 (ANI): Ambala Police's CIA Unit 1 has apprehended three drug traffickers, seizing a substantial 175 kilograms of ganja valued at approximately Rs35 lakh.

The accused have been remanded in custody for ten days to aid authorities in identifying their supply sources and distribution network.

The arrests form part of Ambala Police's ongoing crackdown on drug trafficking. The suspects, identified as Arjun, Sonu, and Rajesh, originally from Panipat, had been residing in Meethapur village in Ambala for some time.

"A special operation by the Ambala police is underway. As part of this, the CIA unit recovered 175 kg of ganja valued at Rs35 lakh the day before yesterday. A case has been registered in Saha Thana. Three individuals, named Arjun, Rajesh, and Sonu, have been arrested," said Surinder Bhoria, Superintendent of Police, Ambala.

During their operations, the traffickers posed as roadside vendors selling plastic goods to disguise their illegal activities. One of the suspects, Arjun, has a prior record under the NDPS Act.

According to the SP of Ambala, police have successfully seized narcotics worth Rs15 crore over the past year, underscoring their commitment to tackling drug-related crime in the region. (ANI)
