"We have been into relation that is very much based on fundamental trust. We have been engaged in series of agreements, first joint vision on the Indo-pacific region and on cooperating on India notion, which is really unique. Second on the bilateral agreement which will give free access to all military base from India and France not only here but all over the world," Ziegler told ANI after attending a programme at Lycee Français de Delhi, which is a French international school in the national capital.
"An agreement on fighting terrorism, jihad and financing terrorism," was also signed between India and France during French President Emmanuel Macron's State visit in March.
The French diplomat also stated that the most of the burning issues in security and defence are not only in India but also existent in France.
The emphasis on the Indo-French defence ties comes barely a few weeks after when a high-level Indian delegation was sent to attend a two-day international conference in Paris on combating the financing of terror outfits such as Islamic State (IS) al-Qaeda and other affiliates.(ANI)
