Mathura, June 23 (PTI) Over 600 boxes of Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 32 lakh were seized from a truck in the refinery area here and two alleged smugglers nabbed, police said today.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of police and excise officials, seized the liquor, being smuggled to Kanpur from Haryana, District Excise Officer Omveer Singh said.

“The smugglers had hid 610 boxes of IMFL behind 'chokar' (animal feed) in a truck,” he said.

The alleged smugglers have been identified as Sarabjeet Singh and Parampreet Singh, both residents of Shivpur in Madhya Pradesh, Dy SP Vinay Singh Chauhan said.
