Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], Nov 26 (ANI): All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) on Monday filed a complaint against statements made by a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate T Raja Singh.
T Raja Singh is contesting Telangana Assembly polls from Goshmahal constituency.
In their complaint letter addressed to the Chief Electoral Officer, the AIMIM had raised objections over some alleged statement made by Singh during an interview to a private news channel.
The AIMIM has accused T Raja Singh of making certain objectionable remarks against Akbaruddin Owaisi and the Muslim community at large. Akbaruddin Owaisi is the younger brother of AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi and is contesting polls from Chandrayangutta assembly constituency.
In their detailed letter, the AIMIM has also cited translated version of four such alleged remarks one of which read, "I have challenged (Akbaruddin Owaisi) multiple time that you leave your security cover, I will leave mine. Give me 5 minutes, and if your head is not under my foot, I will not be called Raja Singh anymore."
The party has requested Chief Electoral Officer of Telangana State to take appropriate action against Singh.
Telangana will go to polls on December 7 to elect the 119 members of legislative assembly. The counting of votes will take place on December 11. (ANI)
