Ghaziabad, Apr 27 (PTI) Activists of a Hindu outfit today barged into the residence of a cleric, allegedly involved in the abduction and rape of a minor here, and vandalised the property, police said.

The minor girl was abducted from Gazipur area of Delhi and allegedly raped in Ghaziabad.

Upon tracing the location through mobile call details, the Delhi Police had arrested the cleric on April 22 from a seminary of the Neelmani colony in Arthla area of Sahibabad here, police said.

Senior Superintendent of Police Vaibhav Krishna said today some activists of Hindu outfit Jai Shiv Sena reached the cleric's house and after breaking the lock they barged in. They damaged his fridge and other domestic items, he said.

The outfit functionaries were demanding that the accused cleric be hanged till death.

On being alerted, the police reached the spot and nabbed two persons, while 20 other activists of the outfit were booked. Additional police force has been deployed in the area as a precautionary measure, the officer added.
