Jammu, Oct 28 (PTI) K Vijay Kumar, Advisor to Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik, Sunday chaired a high-level meeting to review the security arrangements in connection with 'Darbar Move' here.

Among others, the meeting at the police headquarters was attended by Chief Secretary B V R Subrahmanyam, Director General of Police Dilbagh Singh, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu, Sanjeev Verma, Inspector General of Police, Jammu, S D Singh Jamwal, an official spokesman said.

He said other senior officers from police, Army, CRPF, BSF and civil administration also attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the advisor was informed about the arrangements being made in the winter capital to ensure smooth functioning of the state government from here, the spokesman said.

The civil secretariat -- seat of Jammu and Kashmir government -- Raj Bhavan and other move offices closed in Srinagar on October 26 and are scheduled to reopen in Jammu on November 5 as part of the bi-annual darbar move under which the government functions six months each in Srinagar during the summer and Jammu in the winter.

Kumar emphasised on making foolproof security arrangements at the civil secretariat, Raj Bhavan and other vital installations and VIP residences, the spokesman said.

He also asked the functionaries concerned to ensure enhanced security measures with deployment of adequate security and police personnel in Jammu district, including border areas, besides ensuring law and order arrangement in and around the civil secretariat and at all the important areas in the city.

They were directed to maintain alertness and coordination among themselves, the spokesman said.

At the outset, he said the IGP Jammu briefed the meeting about the security arrangements being made for 'Darbar Move'.

He informed that the security at police stations and entry points of this city has been strengthened, the spokesman said.

He said the traffic department was asked to work out a comprehensive plan to ensure the smooth traffic movements in the city.
