New Delhi, Apr 13 (PTI) Delhi Lt Governor Anil Baijal today directed all agencies to take effective steps for prevention of vector-borne diseases and ensure there was a "zero-tolerance" approach to mosquito breeding in the city.
Baijal said this while chairing a meeting at the Raj Niwas which was attended by Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Delhi chief secretary, and other senior officials from civic bodies.
The Lt Governor directed all agencies to take effective steps for prevention of vector-borne diseases, the Raj Niwas said in a statement.
He asked all local bodies and other stakeholders to ensure that there is "zero-tolerance" approach to mosquito breeding, it said.
Baijal directed the health department and other agencies to be well-prepared in terms of logistics for dengue patients.
It should be ensured that at all time, throughout the year, there should be sufficient stock of test kits, medicines of treatment of dengue, chikungunya and malaria.
At least 12 dengue cases have been reported in the city this year till April 7.
