Washington DC, [USA] Oct 24 (ANI): In an effort to settle more than a dozen civil suits, Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein's legal representatives are currently in negotiation with several women who have accused him of sexual misconduct.
Two days of mediation sessions will be held in November in regards to this, reported Page Six. The aim of the sessions will be to try and create a fund for the victims.
The women who have accused him in this regard want more than USD 100 million in damages. The suits have been lodged from almost every major city in the US and UK.
The Attorney General's office in a statement confirmed that the investigations on the basis of the suits are still on.
The statement further revealed that apart from the active investigations, they will make sure that the victims are "sufficiently compensated" and "are protected moving forward, and perpetrators and enablers of the misconduct are not unjustly enriched".
Meanwhile, Weinstein's defence lawyer claimed that the cases of sexual misconducts levelled against him are false and meritless, adding that the former would continue to defend himself "vigorously".
More than 80 women, including actresses Angelina Jolie, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Rose McGowan, have revealed similar stories about Weinstein.
Some accused him of using physical force to compel them to have sex, while others said he offered roles in movies to actors in exchange for sexual favours and threatened to ruin their careers if they did not fulfill his demands. (ANI)
