Washington [USA], Jan 05 (ANI): As negotiations to end the partial government shutdown are still under the table, the United States President Donald Trump reiterated his bid to build a wall on the southern border with Mexico on Saturday.
Trump took to social media saying that his border wall plan has achieved 'great support from all sides' and he is, once again' looking forward to negotiations over the plan in the weekend.
Donald Trump tweeted, "Great support coming from all sides for Border Security (including Wall) on our very dangerous Southern Border. Teams negotiating this weekend! Washington Post and NBC reporting of events, including Fake sources, has been very inaccurate (to put it mildly)!"
"The Democrats could solve the Shutdown problem in a very short period of time. All they have to do is approve REAL Border Security (including a Wall), something which everyone, other than drug dealers, human traffickers and criminals, want very badly! This would be so easy to do!" Trump added.
Meanwhile, Democrats in the House are planning to pass a stopgap spending bill in order to fund the Department of Homeland Security through the month of February, aiming to put a quick end to the government shutdown.
Washington Post reported that the bill would be extending the existing USD 1.3 billion funding over the construction of a wall in the southern US border with Mexico, which is however less than the USD five billion funding approved by the US President himself. (ANI)
