Islamabad [Pakistan], April 14 (ANI): A petition has been filed at the Pakistan Supreme Court against former chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani alleging him of absolving a legally established armed forces Medical store depot and manufacturing, supplying and procuring degraded medicines.
As per The Nation, the petitioner Lieutenant Colonel Inamul Rahiem on Wednesday has sought a response from the Pakistan Defence Ministry, General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, Lt-General (r) Athar, Lt-General (r) Asif Yasin, Managing Director Reliance Pharmaceutical Company Lt Col Naveed Akbar Tanveer and all central officers (Record Office) of the General Headquarters (GHQ).
Rahiem has alleged that former Chief of Army Staff Kayani the then Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant Colonel, headed a group who was involved in the illegal disbandment of the medical depot and transfer of the civilian staff.
It has been further informed that while being an army chief Athar had set up a medical business and was well aware of the business techniques.
Further Lieutenant Colonel Naveed was also involved in the issue who helped Chief Athar to look after extra service interests.
Post-retirement Lieutenant Colonel Naveed also established a pharmaceutical factory as a frontman of Chief Athar as alleged in the petition. (ANI)
