Mumbai, Aug 11: A fire broke out at senior NCP leader and former Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar's farmhouse at Mulshi in Pune district on Sunday, police said.

The blaze erupted in the evening at the farmhouse located in Malkhed, an official said.

"The fire, which was triggered by a short-circuit, was was confined to the furniture in the farmhouse. It was doused within a few minutes," he said. There was no report of injuries in the incident, he said.
