The singer was the on-screen voice of superstars Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan and Salman Khan in several films. Singer Bombay Jayashri Ramnath, who has sung in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Hindi, was presented with Padma Shri by the president.
