Shawn Mendes has marked a new chapter in his musical journey with the release of his latest single, "Why Why Why", and its accompanying music video. The Canadian singer-songwriter also dropped a second track, "Isn't That Enough," both of which are part of his forthcoming fifth album, titled 'Shawn'. The release date coincides with Mendes' 26th birthday. The music video for 'Why Why Why,' directed by Anthony Wilson and Connor Brashier, showcases Mendes performing in a rustic barn and by a serene river, interspersed with scenes of him on stage in an empty venue. Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes Back Together? ‘Senorita’ Couple Reunites at the Hard Rock Stadium for the Copa America 2024 Finals.

The evocative imagery complements the poignant lyrics of the song, in which Mendes reflects on a past relationship and its emotional aftermath. He poignantly sings, "Thought I was about to be a father... Why why why? Why why why?" in the video released on YouTube. These new tracks are Mendes' first solo releases since his charity single ''What the Hell Are We Dying For?'' in 2023, and they precede his first full album release since 2020's ''Wonder''.

Earlier this month, Mendes revealed details about 'Shawn' through social media, sharing the album cover along with a video trailer and a heartfelt message about his creative process. Shawn Mendes Birthday: Pics of the Singer Flaunting His Sartorial Skills on the Red Carpet!.

In his note, Mendes expressed gratitude for his journey, stating, "Music really can be medicine. 2 years ago I felt like I had absolutely no idea who I was. A year ago I couldn't step into a studio without falling into complete panic. So to be here right now with 12 beautiful finished songs feels like such a gift." He also thanked his friends, family, and fans for their unwavering support and patience.
