Veteran actor Morgan Freeman has joined Taylor Sheridan's next Paramount+ series Lioness, starring Nicole Kidman. The series also stars Zoe Saldana, who is also an executive producer along with Kidman, and Laysla De Oliveira. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Freeman will portray the role of Edwin Mullins, the US Secretary of State. Kidman plays Kaitlyn Meade, the CIA's senior supervisor who has had a long career of playing the politics game and who must "juggle the trappings of being a woman in the high-ranking intelligence community". Dave Annable, Jill Wagner, LaMonica Garrett, James Jordan, Austin Hebert, Jonah Wharton, Stephanie Nur and Hannah Love Lanier are also a part of Lioness. The series is executive-produced by Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Saldana, Kidman, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone and John Hillcoat, and is produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios exclusively for Paramount+.
