Rashmika Mandanna Deepfake Video: Delhi Police Registers FIR Over AI-Generated Viral Clip of Actor, Launches Investigation to Find Unidentified Perpetrators

The Delhi Police have initiated a probe into a deepfake video featuring actor Rashmika Mandanna that circulated widely on social media. An FIR has been filed against unidentified individuals under sections 465 and 469 of the Indian Penal Code, along with sections 66C and 66E of the Information Technology Act.

The Delhi Police on Friday registered an FIR against unidentified people in connection with a deepfake video of actor Rashmika Mandanna that was widely circulated on social media. Police said they have formed teams and started an investigation. Earlier in the day, the Delhi Commission for Women sent a notice to the city police in connection with the video, seeking action against the accused.
