According to Variety, an American media company, his family posted a statement on Thursday about Willis' latest diagnosis. In a statement on the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration's website, he wrote, "Since we announced Bruce's diagnosis of aphasia in spring 2022, Bruce's condition has progressed and we now have a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD)." The actor's daughter Rumer Willis also shared the news, along with a photo of her father, on Instagram. Variety has reported that frontotemporal dementia, which is often diagnosed at a younger age than other forms of dementia, can be characterized by personality changes, speech difficulty, and motor impairment.
