AR Murugadoss expressed his love and admiration for Salman Khan by sharing an old incident which took place in Chennai, where he saw the actor for the first time. Director Murugadoss, known for films like Ghajini and Holiday, collaborated with Salman Khan for the first time for the upcoming film Sikandar, slated for release on March 30, 2025. At the trailer launch event, the Ghajini director shared his fan moment involving an unexpected meeting with Salman Khan in Chennai:
"I was struggling as an AD (Assistant Director) long back. I wanted to watch a shoot, so I went to Prasad Studios in Chennai. I requested the security guard to let me in on two conditions: I had to stay in a corner and couldn't talk to anyone. He gave me 20 minutes."
He described becoming a fan after this encounter: "I entered during a shoot with smoke and lights - suddenly I saw Sridevi, then noticed a hero combing his hair. When I realised it was Salman sir, I tried moving closer but was stopped. Right then, I decided I'd direct him one day."

Meanwhile, Murugadoss expressed interest in working with Shah Rukh Khan after completing his Tamil film: "After Sikandar, I'll finish one Tamil project. Then I'd love to work with SRK - it's definitely on my bucket list," he told ANI.
Having worked with Aamir Khan (Ghajini), Rajinikanth (Darbar), Vijay (Kaththi) and others, Murugadoss's next project Sikandar stars Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles.
