Tehran [Iran], Jan 8 (ANI): Hours after Tehran launched retaliatory short-range ballistic missiles at two military bases in Iraq that house American troops, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif on Wednesday said that his country took 'proportionate measures in self-defence' and that it does not seek any escalation or war. "Iran took and concluded proportionate measures in self-defence under Article 51 of UN Charter targeting base from which cowardly armed attack against our citizens and senior officials were launched. We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression," Zarif said in a tweet.Meanwhile, Iran's telecommunications minister Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi launched a scathing attack on the US, following the missile attack on American targets in Iraq.
