New Delhi, June 15 (PTI) The alleged kingpin of an inter-state drug-trafficking racket, has been arrested by the special team of the Delhi Police from Bareilly in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police official said.
Anish, a resident of Uttar Pradesh and carrying a reward of Rs 50,000 on him, was arrested on June 13 after laying a trap following a tip-off, the official was quoted as saying in a release.
The accused and his three accomplices, who were earlier arrested, used to supply drugs in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR region, Deputy Commissioner of Police Pramod Singh Kushwah said in a statement.
Anish was apprehended when he went to Rohilkhand University in Bareilly to meet one of his associates, the police said.
"He was involved in drug trafficking for several years. He used to supply heroin in Uttar Pradesh and Delhi NCR in large quantities. His other associates have already been arrested by the special cell in February," the release said. PTI RRT
