CS Assault Case: Sisodia Quizzed for Nearly 3 Hrs

New Delhi, May 25 (PTI) The Delhi Police questioned Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia for nearly three hours today in connection with the alleged assault on Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash.

After the questioning by a team led by Additional DCP Harendra Singh at Sisodia's official residence at Mathura Road, police said it was "satisfied" with the deputy chief minister's response, and if needed, he will be quizzed again.

Sisodia was asked around 125 questions, the police said.

"Delhi police questioned deputy chief minister for around 165 minutes. Once the investigation is completed, a final report will be prepared. He not answered a few questions and our investigation team will look into them.

"At present, the investigation is at an important stage. If required, we will again question that deputy chief minister," Singh said.

The questioning proceedings were videographed.

Police said that Sisodia claimed during questioning that the meeting was convened by Kejriwal, who had also decided to call the MLAs there.

Sisodia's lawyer B S Joon, meanwhile, said around 60-70 questions were asked by the Delhi police. Police were "completely satisfied" with the answers of Deputy Chief Minister, he added.

Sisodia hit out the Centre and the Lieutenat Governor alleging that they have unleashed the Delhi Police and other agencies against the AAP and Delhi government to harass them by implicating then in false case.

"Today, the Delhi Police questioned me, which went well. The police is not at fault but there is a lot of pressure on them to trap us. We have been effectively trying to address the issues of corruption, put an end to ration, private school and tanker mafia. The BJP-Congress is afraid of our popularity," Sisodia said.

Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash was allegedly attacked during a meeting at Kejriwal's official residence on February 19. Police said the chief minister and the deputy chief minister were present when the alleged assault took place.

Kejrial was quizzed on Friday. The police have already questioned 11 AAP MLAs present at the chief minister's residence for the meeting.

Two of the party MLAs -- Amantullah Khan and Prakash Jarwal -- were arrested in the case.

Last month, Kejriwal's private secretary Bibhav Kumar and party volunteer Vivek Kumar were also questioned in connection with the case.

Kejriwal, his former advisor V K Jain and Sisodia were also present in the meeting. Jain was also questioned in the case.

On February 23, a police team had examined the CCTV system installed at the chief minister's residence in the Civil Lines area and seized the hard disk. The forensic report on the hard disk is still awaited.

The alleged assault on the chief secretary had triggered a bitter tussle between the Delhi government and its bureaucrats.
