New Delhi, Nov 21 (PTI) A 23-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a ceiling fan in northeast Delhi's Sunder Nagari area, police said Wednesday.

The incident took place at around 9 pm on Tuesday and police received a call on Wednesday morning, they said.

The deceased was identified as Sagar, police said.

No suicide note was recovered from the spot and the body was sent for postmortem, they added. PTI NIT

Three arrested for stealing motorcycles, mobile phones

New Delhi, Nov 21 (PTI) Three men, including a notorious criminal, were arrested for allegedly stealing motorcycles and mobile phones from outer Delhi's Sultan Puri area, police said Wednesday.

The accused were identified as Harjeet, 32, Vishal alias Manoj, 22, and Vishal alias Dimpy ,24, residents of Mangolpuri, they said.

Acting on a tip-off, police arrested the three men near Sultanpur Majra at Sultanpuri at around 4.45 pm, police said.

Ten mobile phones and one motorcycle were recovered from them, they added. PTI NIT

Traffic advisory for motorists ahead of procession on birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev

New Delhi, Nov 21 (PTI) In view of a procession on the occasion of birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev, the Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory for motorists to avoid routes where procession is scheduled to pass through.

According to the advisory, procession will start at 10 am on Thursday and pass through Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib, Chandi Chowk, Fathepuri, Khari Baoli Chowk, Qutub Road, Azad Market, Ghanta Ghar, GTK Road and will conclude at Gurudwara Nank Pioa near Rana Partap Bagh.

Head of procession is expected to reach Gurdwara Nanak Piao at about 04.00 pm and its tail (Swari Sahib) would be reaching there at about midnight, police said in the advisory.

"Road-users at Rani Jhansi Road -- except Rani Jhansi Flyover -- are advised to avoid this route during the evening time for movement from north to central and New Delhi areas and vice versa. City buses will be diverted from Rani Jhansi Road, Roshanara Road and G.T.K. Road from 2.00 pm," police said in a statement.

It stated that motorists are advised to follow the directions given by the traffic personnel to ensure smooth movement and to minimise traffic congestion and disruption.
