Mumbai, May 3 (PTI) Rajya Sabha member Narayan Rane today said he will announce whom his party will support in the Legislative Council election in Raigad-Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg local bodies constituency in the next two days.

Elections for six seats in Maharashtra's Upper House will be held on May 21.

The Raigad-Ratnagiri-Sindhudurg constituency will see a direct contest between the Shiv Sena and the NCP.

Former state NCP chief Sunil Tatkare's son Aniket Tatkare is pitted against Rajiv Sabale of the Sena in this constituency.

Speaking to PTI, Rane, who quit the Congress last year to form his own party, and who was recently elected to the Rajya Sabha on the BJP ticket, said he will decide his stand in the next two days.

His newly-formed Maharashtra Swabhiman Party has 96 votes in the constituency.

The total number of registered voters (members of local bodies) is 921, with the Shiv Sena having the highest number, followed by the NCP, Congress and BJP.

Rane, a former Shiv Sena leader, has been a bitter critic of the party since he left it in 2005.
