The movie was announced by HBO Chief Casey Bloys, who said that the production of the movie will begin in October this year, with a premiere scheduled in spring 2019, confirmed The Hollywood Reporter.
David Milch, the creator of the original TV series, will be writing the movie.
'Deadwood' aired for three seasons and garnered eight Emmy Awards and a huge fan base.
