Washington D.C. [USA], Feb 12 (ANI): United States President Donald Trump's former personal lawyer Michael Cohen, who was slated to appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee on February 12, has once again postponed his testimony for the third time on Monday (local time).CNN quoted Cohen's attorney, Lanny Davis, as saying that the Congressional testimony of the former has been postponed as of now under medical grounds and has been rescheduled to February 28."The Senate Select Committee on Intelligence has accepted Mr. Cohen's request for postponement of tomorrow's hearing due to post-surgery medical needs. A future date will be announced by the committee," Davis said in a statement. The testimony comes amid reports that Cohen is slated to report to the prison on March 6. Cohen, sentenced for three years in prison, has pleaded guilty to multiple charges in December last year, including campaign finance crimes related to payments made to silence women during the 2016 presidential campaign on Trump's directives, according to the prosecutors.Trump's former attorney was initially slated to appear in an open hearing before the House Oversight Committee on February 7. However, Cohen announced last week that he will be postponing the testimony owing to "ongoing threats against his family" from Trump and his attorney, Rudy Giuliani, and was supposed to testify behind closed doors before the Committee on February 8. But even the second date was rescheduled to February 12.In January,  a subpoena was issued to Cohen to appear before the Senate Intelligence Committee in mid-February.Last week, House Intelligence Chairman Adam Schiff, said that Cohen is being "fully cooperative" with the intelligence committee despite postponing the testimony for a number of times.
