Nadia (WB) Jun 27 (PTI) A team of CBI special branch sleuths today raided eight places across West Bengal and one in Madhya Pradesh in connection with an ongoing probe into a ponzi scheme case, a senior official of the investigating agency said.

Though no arrests were made today, several documents were seized during the raids conducted at different official and residential premises of the accused persons and companies' premises across the state, he said.

The case was registered in July last year against two directors of Golden Pariwar Holding and Developers Private Limited - Sukalyan Biswas and Bina Biswas and others, the officer said.

"It was alleged that the accused collected huge amounts as deposit from the public on assurance to repay them with hight interest. However, the accused did not repay the money and closed down their offices, misappropriated the invested amount and cheated the investors," he said.

"Our investigation is still on and several raids may be conducted as per our requisition for the purpose," he added.
