Mumbai, Jan 16 (PTI) Government bonds (G-Secs)declined following selling pressure from banks and corporatesand the overnight call money rates also ended lower due tolack of demand from borrowing banks amidst ample liquidity inthe banking system.The 6.79 per cent 10-year benchmark bond maturing in2027 slipped to Rs 94.9475 from Rs 95.65 previously, while itsyield rose to 7.55 per cent from 7.44 per cent.The 6.68 per cent government security maturing in 2031were dipped to Rs 91.85 from Rs 92.69, while its yield movedup to 7.65 per cent from 7.54 per cent.The 7.17 per cent government security maturing in2028 fell to Rs 98.51 from Rs 99.28, while its yield up to7.38 per cent from 7.27 per cent.The 6.84 per cent government security maturing in2022, the 8.20 per cent government security maturing in 2022and the 8.27 per cent government security maturing in 2020were also quoted lower to Rs 97.94, Rs 102.9975 and Rs 102.86respectively.The overnight call money rates ended lower to 5.80per cent from Monday's level of 5.90 per cent. Its resumedhigher at 6.00 per cent and moved in a range of 6.05 per centand 5.75 per cent.Meanwhile, Reserve Bank of India, under the Liquidity Adjustment Facility, purchased securities worth Rs 37.55 billion in 6-bids at the overnight repo operation at a fixed rate of 6.00 per cent as on today, while it sold securities worth Rs 45.28 billion in 30-bids at the overnight reverse repo auction at a fixed rate of 5.75 percent as on January 15.
