New Delhi, Jun 1 (PTI) Delhi BJP's Scheduled Caste wing today staged a demonstration outside the Banga Bhavan, the official guest house of the West Bengal government in Delhi, against the killing of a youth "Dalit party worker" in that state.

According to a statement issued by the BJP, party's national general-secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya, Delhi unit chief Manoj Tiwari and former MP Mukul Rai joined the protest.

On Wednesday, the body of the 18-year-old youth, whom the BJP claimed as its member, was found hanging from a tree near his home in Purulia district in West Bengal.

An unsigned hand-written note was also found with the body which stated that "he was punished for working with BJP".

"It is very unfortunate that West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who initiated a democratic movement against the Marxist violence in Bengal, has left the Marxists behind in government-sponsored violence," Vijayvargiya alleged.

During the protest, BJP workers burnt the effigy of Banerjee.

Addressing the party workers, Tiwari said: "We pray to God that this violence comes to an end."

According to the statement, Rai said, "We shall make every effort for the establishment of democracy in Bengal."
