Dhaka [Bangladesh], June 18 (ANI): Lieutenant General Aziz Ahmed has been appointed as new chief of Bangladesh Army.

As reported by the Daily Star, Quarter Master General of Bangladesh Army Lieutenant General Aziz Ahmed will hold the office of Army chief from June 25.

As per a release by the Bangladesh Defence Ministry, Ahmed will also be promoted as the Army General.

Ahmed has served as the Director General of Border Guards Bangladesh for four years until 2016.

Meanwhile, it is reported that present Army Chief General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq will go into leave preparatory to retirement on June 25, after completing his term. (ANI)
