Kolkata, Nov 21 (PTI) The Polyglot Theatre of Australia has brought their 'Ants' show on the grounds of the Victoria Memorial Hall grounds here.

'Ants' is an interactive performance which has giant ants bringing children together in a gentle and intriguing landscaping project.

Polyglot Theatre, Australia's leading creator of experiential, interactive and installation theatre for children performed the show on the sprawling ground of the Victoria Memorial on the evenings of Tuesday and Wednesday.

"Ants creates an imaginative world that needs cooperation and kindness to exist. It is exciting to think of this work going to India...in another culture, in a large city, with children who might not have experienced participatory theatre before, where ways of being and expectations will differ," Polyglot Theatre's artistic Director Sue Giles said.

In a statement, Australia's High Commissioner to India, Harinder Sidhu, said "Polyglot Theatre is encouraging kids to turn the simplest things into extraordinary creations. We are thrilled to present this unique performance, which will delight people of all ages."

Polyglot's tour to India is supported by the Australian government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and the Victorian Government.

'Ants' will now travel to Chennai for performances there on November 23 and 24.
