Amaravati (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Oct 31 (ANI): Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N. Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday launched the party's membership enrollment drive 2018-2020 here with an aim to enroll one crore members in the party.

Presently, the TDP has almost 71 lakh members as of now in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Naidu expressed concern on the situation of the country and said that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is deteriorating the government institutions of the country.

He further alleged that the democracy in India is in danger due to the policies of the BJP.

"The TDP will grow as an alternative power along with all non-BJP parties. I have taken the responsibility to save the nation," said the chief minister, who will meet Congress president Rahul Gandhi in the national capital tomorrow.

Chandrababu said that the TDP joined hands with the BJP in 2014 as the Congress party cheated Andhra Pradesh with bifurcation; however later Prime Minister Narendra Modi, himself became "a traitor of the state." (ANI)
