Residents of Allahabad's Shivkuti colony have put posters outside their houses, stating that "the entry of any BJP leader and worker is prohibited in the area".
Taking to the ANI, one of the local said the step has been taken in light of the alleged role of BJP workers in increasing number of rapes and crime against women.
"We are very disappointed with the BJP government, following the rape incidents in the country. Hence we request the BJP leaders not to enter our locality," said a local.
Sengar, the BJP MLA from Unnao, was arrested on Friday by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for allegedly raping a 17-year-old girl last year.
The incident sparked massive outrage in the country, with people calling for speedy justice in the case. (ANI)
