Shimla, Jun 14 (PTI) Four people were killed and two others injured when a tipper rolled into a deep gorge near Bhanera in Chamba district, about 400 km from here, police said.

Three people died on the spot while one person succumbed to his injuries in a hospital at Chamba. The tipper carrying bitumen was on its way to Khajjiar from Chamba.

The injured were identified as Surendra Singh (47) and Puneet Kumar (27). They were rushed to a hospital in Pathankot, the police said.

In another accident, two private buses collided head-on near high court on Cart Road here. About a dozen persons were injured in the accident.

The incident caused major traffic jam in the city.

Meanwhile, a tourist bus on way to Delhi from Manali caught fire near Ria village on Manali-Nalagarh National Highway this afternoon.

Panic gripped 53 passengers who hustled to come out of the bus and fifteen people received minor injuries.

Fire tenders were immediately rushed to the spot, Fire officer Hitender Kanwar said.
