New Delhi, Nov 20 (PTI) Two men were arrested for allegedly robbing people from west Delhi, police said Tuesday.

The accused were members of Takkar gang, they said.

On October 23, Aditya Sharma filed a complaint that two persons on a scooter had stolen Rs 1 lakh from his pocket by deliberately distracting his attention in Moti Nagar area, Monika Bhardwaj, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) said.

Police collected CCTV footage and on Monday, they received information that both the culprits would come to Transport Center Punjabi Bagh. A trap was laid and the accused were apprehended, Bhardwaj said.

During interrogation, they disclosed that they used to roam in crowded areas such as markets, near banks and industrial areas in search of their pray. They used to deliberately hit the potential victim and create ruckus to distract their attention and steal valuable items from their pockets, the DCP said.

The accused were identified as Amit alias Nathia and Sunil Kumar Singh, residents of Dabri, New Delhi, they added.

On Monday, police arrested Amit from Dwarka's Dabri area. He was carrying a reward of Rs 15,000 on his head, a senior police officer said.

New Delhi, Nov 20 (PTI) The Delhi Police was Tuesday awarded for implementing modern technology in police communication network by Minister of State (independent Charge Ministry of Labour and Employment) Santosh Gangwar, police said Tuesday.

In a two-day conference of All India Heads of Police Communication held in Vigyan Bhawan, Gangwar awarded the Delhi Police for implementing modern technology in police communication network, they said.

Two held for stealing two-wheelers

New Delhi, Nov 20 (PTI) Two juveniles were apprehended for allegedly stealing two-wheelers from southwest Delhi, police said Tuesday.

On Sunday at around 7.30 pm, two persons were apprehended from Nasir Pur Manglapuri during picket-checking, police said.

During interrogation, they confessed to their involvements in several other cases, police said, adding that three motorcycles and 10 bicycles were recovered from them.
